The Trump Administration’s dizzying tariff moves have profoundly reshaped the global trade landscape and essentially forced companies to question the reliability of the United States.
On April 9, President Trump announced a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for most countries, maintaining a 10% tariff on nearly all global imports while significantly increasing the tariffs on Chinese goods to 125%. However, the turning point came on May 12, when the U.S. and China issued a joint statement initiating a 90-day pause on tariff hikes. Despite this unexpected progress, companies are aware that the tariff switch could be activated again.
