About The Event
The Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (MexCham HK) is pleased to host a breakfast to welcome Dr. Jesús Seade, Mexican Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, and offer an opportunity for the Mexican and Ibero-American community in Hong Kong to hear Dr. Seade discuss Mexico's vision for China and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Dr. Jesús Seade is an economist, diplomat, politician, trade negotiator, scholar, and recipient of the Miguel Hidalgo Award, the highest honor a Mexican civilian can receive. Among his numerous posts and positions, Dr. Seade has served as Ambassador and Mexico’s Chief Negotiator of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA); Mexico’s negotiator at the World Trade Organization (WTO) and its Founder Deputy Director-General; Assistant Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C.; Undersecretary for North America in Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Chief Economist at the World Bank; Chair Professor of Economics and Vice-President at Hong Kong’s Lingnan University; Special Advisor for Internationalization and Professor of Economics and Associate Vice-President for Global Affairs at the Chinese University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen; and Chair Professor at the University of Warwick, Great Britain.
